HD 140 District Director

State Representative Armando Walle (Texas House District 140) is seeking a District Director position in House District 140 in North Houston. The job is a full-time, in-person position that reports to the State Representative and Chief of Staff. The start date will be fall of 2025. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Run the District Office, including managing daily operations, supervising district staff and interns and maintaining the Representative's district schedule;

• Lead formulation and execution of strategic plan for District Office;

• Serve as principal point of contact for the district office, and maintains positive working relationships with opinion leaders and district stakeholders;

• Maintain an active presence within the community, including attending evening and weekend events;

• Staff the Representative at events in and around House District 140;

• Prepare briefing materials for the Representative in advance of meetings with local officials and community members;

• Oversee all constituent casework;

• Plan and Host events in the District for constituents such as: town halls, holiday parties, supply drives, etc.;

• Communicate with, report to, and work directly with Chief of Staff to both the District and Capitol offices operate as a team; and

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills;

• Self-starter with the ability to exercise initiative and think creatively and independently

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills;

• Ability to work non-traditional hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends and holidays;

• Excellent team player;

• Must have access to reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge and understanding of Harris County/North Houston;

• Spanish language proficiency;

• Experience with event-planning and community engagement.

COMPENSATION

Salary will, at minimum, be $4,250 per month and will be commensurate with experience. This position also includes full health benefits.
