Dear Friends,
Fall is coming to House District 140! Kids are back in school, families are spending evenings cheering on students at high school football and volleyball games, and local campaigns are kicking into high gear with the general election right around the corner.
With only a few months remaining in the year, our team is working hard to prepare for the upcoming Legislative Session. We’ve been meeting with folks both in the Houston community and in Austin. From addressing affordability to investing in infrastructure to supporting our neighborhood schools, we have a lot to do to bring home wins for HD 140 in 2027.
Despite everything going on, staying connected with you remains my top priority. Serving the district well relies on open communication from the people who make this district their home. In September, we got together to honor Rose Avalos, the namesake of P-Tech in Aldine ISD. We also were able to participate in the groundbreaking and blessing of the brand-new Family Opportunity Center from Catholic Charities.
Finally, we kickstarted our campaign for re-election by knocking on doors across the district and talking to our neighbors about the upcoming election. We’ll have volunteering opportunities every weekend throughout October. Please take a look at our upcoming schedule and sign up to join us.
I am also sad to share that Harris County lost a titan last month. Former State Representative Garnet Coleman passed away on September 23rd. Rep. Coleman was a longtime mentor and close personal friend of mine whose impact on the lives of all Texans is immeasurable. I will miss Garnet dearly, and my heart is with his family. I will always strive to honor his legacy of unmatched public service in all that I do.
Please remember that my team and I are always here to serve as a resource for you and your family. I always remain grateful for the opportunity to serve you in HD 140.
In solidarity,
